Biotech Summercamp
Our "Budding Biotech Sleuths" learned about photosynthesis, plant life cycles, the scientific methods, data collection and analysis, Kentucky Bioprocessing, tobacco-based health treatments, vaccines, bacteria, antibiotics, genetics, and DNA extraction in week long mystery investigation! Sessions were held at the Western Kentucky Botanical Garden, the Owensboro Museum of Science and History Biotech Lab and Kentucky Bioprocessing.

Biotechnology Expo
The Budding Biotech Program and Owensboro Community and Technical College hosted a Biotechnology Expo on Thursday, June, 10th, 2010 from 6-8 p.m. in the OCTC Advanced Technology Center. We invited area middle and high school students interested in science and math to attend.The Expo showcased the educational and career opportunities in biotechnology in our area.

Life Below the Waterline: September 29th, 2009
The Budding Biotech microscopes accompanied the the ORSANCO (Ohio River Valley Sanitation Commission) Traveling Aquarium in English Park September 29th. Students learned about river life on a large scale at the aquarium and then studied microscopic river organisms under the microscopes.
